For those that may be following my blog and don't know all of the details my awesome husband Jacob was accepted to Trinity University school of Medicine located on St. Vincent Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a quick geography lesson...we are south of the United States about 2,000+ miles (that is a guess) our closest land mass is the country of Venezuela we are considered a Caribbean Island and yes Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed on our island as well as on the grenadine islands!
It is as beautiful as all of the travel agency's make it seem! everyone's first reaction is "your so lucky"....or "I would die to live on an island in the Caribbean"...."your going on a 2 year vacation" and while all of these things are true it is not all positive. I do like it here and it is beautiful but I am terribly homesick although everyday gets better. We have challenges...we have no vehicle.... The cost of living is outrageous.....and food is EXPENSIVE! Not to mention we have no income we live on student loans and are allotted only a certain amount and we have to make it last 4 months.
Now that we have an introduction to the blog I will go in to a little more detail in the next few posts about getting here and our first shopping trips and our first experience in downtown Kingstown! I hope you will all enjoy this blog and some maybe will find it helpful! I will try to give you all a little piece of Paradise in each post!
